“Sports Event Evangelism (S.E.E.),” an Australian mission initiative, has produced “Celebrate the Victory” tract in nine (9) languages for this Olympic season.
Like GPM, which produced the “Hope Race Project” tract, S.E.E. initially planned to come to Japan for distribution activities during the Olympic season, but it was no longer possible due to the limitations set by the coronavirus.
S.E.E. also would like to invite Japanese Christians to take advantage of these free tracts. It is for free, including shipping anywhere in Japan.
Please order these tracts and use them for your Olympic season outreach events!
*We are very happy to announce that even if the Olympics is cancelled, “Celebrate the Victory” Project will still continue, until our supplies last.
“Celebrate the Victory” is an evangelism tool created by S.E.E.
Offering some basic knowledge about Japan, these tracts are interesting to those who are new to Japan and would like to know about topics related to the Olympics. The Gospel is also explained in an easy-to-understand manner with relevant illustrations.
The most special feature of the booklet is that it is available in nine (9) languages: Korean, German, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, English, and Japanese.
It is the best tool for Christians to use when reaching out to foreigners who are staying in or visiting Japan.
When people see the booklets in their heart language, they would be interested in reading them. The same content is printed on the same page for each language version, so please use it while comparing it with your own (language) version.
Matt and Barb Douglas Talk about S.E.E. and this Project.
This project to distribute the Celebrate the Victory booklets for the Olympics in Tokyo is spearheaded by Matt and Barb.
They oversee the ABWE Sports Event Evangelism which engages in evangelism in internationally sporting events such as the Olympics and the World Cup.
They were appointed by ABWE in 1990 and arrived in Australia in June 1994. Since 2010, Matt and Barb have been involved with Living Hope Baptist Church in the coastal town of Corrimal, NSW, Australia.
They visited Japan to look for a printer and were introduced to New Life Ministries. With their limitation to come and bring their own team to evangelize during the Olympics, it is their hope and prayer to pass the baton to Japanese Christians to take this amazing once-in-a-lifetime Gospel opportunity.
Sports Event Evangelism (S.E.E.) is an organisation that seeks to share the salvation found in Jesus Christ with all people who enjoy the great sports events of our world.
S.E.E. is a continuation of a ministry that started for the 1996 Olympics. We target the largest sporting events of the world as an opportunity to tell people about Jesus Christ.
Through providing quality tracts to God’s people, we seek to give Christians the opportunity to spread their faith.
For many Christians, the ability to turn openings into witnessing opportunities can be difficult.
While they have no doubt about their faith, they are not sure how to turn a conversation towards the Gospel.
Once the conversation begins, it can be difficult to keep the conversation going in a smooth direction that covers all the basic elements.
Having the important scriptures at hand and relevant illustrations for the moment can be difficult. Our Celebrate the Victory booklets are written to help anyone share their faith.
These booklets use common facts about the Olympics to help the unbeliever understand the claims of Christ. It then leads them into an opportunity to accept Him as their Saviour.
These books are written to help any believer get a conversation started.
They are quality booklets that are carefully written and relevant.
In past events people have even led people to salvation in Christ without speaking their language as each booklet is translated to have the same information on each page.
So, a Japanese person can use the Japanese booklet, and a person who speaks one of the other eight languages can use a language they understand, as the Gospel is clearly presented point by point.
We carefully chose the nine languages available for these booklets. It was the desire of S.E.E. to cover the languages of those who live and work in Japan.
We also wanted to cover the languages of those who are likely to visit Japan during the Olympic excitement.
These languages are not the languages of only “Christian” nations.
It is the desire of S.E.E. to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
In previous outreach events we have seen people from as many as 21 nations come to Christ in just a matter of days.
The beauty of the multi-lingual gospel presentation is that even the kind gift of a booklet to someone you can’t understand, nor can they understand you, is enough to change a life for eternity.
In the last 25 years we have been privileged to help thousands of new Christians from all over the world grow in their new faith after receiving a booklet at a major sporting event.
We have even seen a number of churches start over time as we connect believers with people to minister to them once they return home.
This is one of the many stories that illustrates how these booklets helped bridge language barriers. At one Olympics, one of the S.E.E. team members tried to speak to a man, but the man didn’t understand English, so he fanned out the booklet and the man chose the French one.
The S.E.E. member didn’t speak French, but he knew the word “oui” for yes, so the member walked through the English book as the man went through the French book – page by page. At the end, the member pointed to the prayer of salvation at the end of the book and gestured to ask if he was ready.
“Oui,” he said, and he bowed his head and began reciting the prayer.
When he finished the prayer, tears were flowing down his eyes.
Later that day, as the team shared stories from their day, the member told the story of the French man.
Before he was finished, a woman jumped up and shouted that she was a French teacher and asked for the man’s phone number.
The member gave it to her and she spoke with the man for over an hour. When she hung up, she confirmed that the man had in fact been saved.
The church started at a time when people from all over the world were gathered together in Jerusalem. At that time, God gave His disciples the ability to talk with everyone in their own native language. The result was that 3000 people were saved on the first day of sharing salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.
Today we have a few worldwide events that give us a similar opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. S.E.E. wants to make it possible for any Christian to be able to share their faith as part of a conversation about the Olympics.
We have been able to produce the booklets that are now a gift to you, so that you can give them to others.
Our goal is simply to encourage believers to share their faith and allow God to use His word and practical relevant illustrations to speak to the hearts and minds of those around us.
